LATEST: See images from the 28 June roll out of the Peace Scarf on the Royal Mile. Great video of the scarf stretched along the Royal Mile here.

We still need more scarf panels for the Aldermaston to Burghfield Roll out on 9 August, so keep knitting and crocheting!

The UK Government will decide whether to renew the Trident contract in 2016. We are knitters and crocheters who don’t want to see £80 billion spent on more weapons of mass destruction.

Across the UK knitters are making a 7 mile pink scarf to stretch between Aldermaston and Burghfield, nuclear weapons production sites in Berkshire on August 9th 2014.

Knit or crochet your 60 x 100cm pink piece for peace to:

– Say no to the renewal of Trident nuclear weapons
– Support the Scottish Government saying no to Trident
– Create a colourful protest that can be recycled into warm blankets

  1. Great work! Could you perhaps insert the word ‘UK’ in the first line above do it reads “The [UK] Government will decide whether to renew the Trident contract in 2016”?

Otherwise it’s confusing for folk like me who think of the Scottish Government when we hear the words ‘The Government’, and they’re planning on being rid of Trident and putting the billions into something useful!
